This one was very interesting, i felt this first book was more to set up the backgrounds and motions for the next really but that’s okay, it was intriguing really a secret society of witches in a little town and such, very compelling and entertaining.
They’re times where i doubted if i was going to like it or not since it was a little slow pacing at first but then the train went off and damn that was awesome.
The characters were so complex and fascinating Josie was a little heathen that’s for sure, mae was cool she suffered so much really damn she was either strong or very patient really, i felt for her so bad.
My god can we agree that spade was a little piece of work omg he really scrub me the wrong way, i mean there were times that you know i was like aww that’s so cute and then bam there he was again damn.
But all in all it does hooked me up for the next one i do want to know where all this will end.
About the book
When Mae Kingsley is forced to move into her family’s rundown lake house, she discovers small town living is not as simple as it seems. Bursts of violence, silent treatments, archaic rituals and two very cute guys with seriously mysterious motives all appear with the rising of the new moon.
But that’s nothing compared to the family secrets soon to be revealed. A box sealed in a vault, hidden rooms, naked swimming. There’s a trove of family revelations just beneath the floorboards, waiting to be exposed.
As the paranormal bonding season for the High Council Witches begins, Mae must quickly decide who to trust and who to fear before a deadly family tradition repeats itself and her chance to live a normal life completely disappears.
