About the book:

Back in high school, Lily Wang wanted to be popular, but she considered herself lucky to be part of a tight group of oddballs and honors students called the Nerd Herd. Now, at twenty-eight, she feels like she’s finally on the cusp of succeeding as a beauty influencer—if she can hit five million subscribers, brands will take notice and she could get her own makeup line.

Fellow Nerd Herd alum Tobin Bui has had a lot of success as a YouTube gamer. But the road to online stardom has been rocky. First, he disappointed his parents by dropping out of college, and now, after years of pranks, skits, and playthroughs, he’s struggling to come up with new content to satisfy his ever-growing fan base. His agents say he needs cross-audience appeal, a new twist.

When Nerd Herd frenemy Lily approaches Tobin about teaming up to do a video to bolster her brand and reinvigorate his, he agrees. But when their first collab video goes viral, their relationship heats up too. With the whole internet watching, will these two former misfits finally realize they’re perfect together?

Review

First Impressions

This one I picked it up since it looked so fun and light really and I was in need of something to calm me down in a way.

It’s a rom com so I expected it to be sweet maybe drama, there’s always drama, and it has lot of goofiness loved it.

You begin with 2 friends that go to youtube later on, and it shows the struggles of living behind all the glamour of the videos and such, oved that perspective.

Characters

That they did knew each other before hand was so cute for me, sweethearts are a trope I kind like a lot, we can say it’s my guilty pleasure and frenemies is fun is you do it right.

I felt so identified with Lily I’m kind of of a control freak myself but I have that no schedule rule as Tobin and life happens a lot as we could see in this book and inspiration is not always at hand.

Final Thoughts

At the end I devoured the book so fast, I was having so much fun with them all, I mean the interesting joint of gamer and beauty was kind of cool actually, loved the idea that we are complex in our ideals and nothing it’s too weird to actually mix it sometimes.

It was what I needed really and i felt that it got me in my heart so bad, I hope there are other books with this cast of characters again someday.
