C. Shell Interview

Tell us a little about yourself and your background?

I have loved books, especially romance novels, since I was in high school. The happy endings and endless possibilities are alluring and addictive. I currently reside in Texas, and when I am not thinking up my next bad-boy character or dirty-tongued alpha male, I’m working with local rescues helping dogs and being a wife and mother to my wonderful family.

Which writers inspire you?

Maya Banks, Sylvia Day, and Scarlett Dawn

Have you written any other novels in collaboration with other writers?

Not yet, but I hope to soon.

When did you decide to become a writer?

I read a book a few years ago that I was really I was hooked on until the ending came and the author killed off the main characters. It ruined the story for me. After that I got so mad I decided to write my own book and give it an ending people would love. I was addicted to writing after that.

Do you write full-time or part-time?

part-time.

Do you work to an outline or plot or do you prefer just see where an idea takes you?

I always start with an outline of how I want the story to go, but it never fails that by the end the story has taken on a life of its own and gone astray.

Do you have a strategy for finding reviewers?

Not really. I normally pick readers who have followed me for a while and shown an interest in my work.

What are your thoughts on good/bad reviews?

A bad review used to bother me but not so much anymore.  I don’t care either way as long as the review is honest. You can’t please everyone so I don’t try to anymore.
